Fisher & Paykel has released the HC234 CPAP Machines with humidifier.  This machine now features a user-friendly LCD screen on the top of the machine for ease of use.  Additionally, F & P has added a ramp feature to this unit so that you can slowly adjust to your therapy pressure as you fall asleep.  Check it out at:

Coming Soon - HC604.  This new model from Fisher & Paykel will feature a heated tube and larger diameter water chamber to allow for increased humidity.  The heated tubing has coils within it to warm the tube surfaces.  This eliminates most, if not all, condensation buildup within the tubing walls providing a more quiet and comfortable sleep.  We will pass along more information as it becomes available.

ResMed has announced the next release in the S8 lineup of CPAP machines.  Due out end of July, beginning of August, the S8 compact will be equivalent to the very successful S7 Lightweight machine but at 1/3 of the size and 1/2 of the weight.   This machine can be your best traveling partner for your summer vacation.  Buy your S8 today at: http://www.cpapplus.com/Machines/CPAP/S8_Escape/S8_Escape.html

Puritan-Bennett has introduced the DreamFit interface.  The unit is designed similar to the popular Breeze Sleepgear with Dreamseal with an interesting twist.  The cushion features a soft bellow chamber between the frame and the cushion which allows and active sleeper to maintain a secure seal throughout the night.  Check it out at:

Hypertension (High Blood Pressure) and OSA-The Seventh Report of the Joint National Committee on Prevention, Detection, Evaluation, and Treatment of High Blood Pressure has reported that the use of CPAP therapy is more effective in reducing patient blood pressure than standard medication.   Copies of the JNC7 Reports are available at www.nhlbi.nih.gov .  This information is further substantiated by the prestigious New England Journal of Medicine 2003;(13):1233-41 which stated patients participating in a study showed reduced blood pressure, reduced Coronary artery disease and Congestive heart failure.
