The ResMed pricing structure WILL be in place as of October 1, 2006. CPAP Supplies Plus/Direct has been Preferred Internet Sales Status and will continue to provide ResMed products to our loyal customers. Please understand that we will no longer have the ability to offer ResMed products at discounted rates – as we will be mandated to maintain specific pricing on our site. In a recent news release Aeiomed has announce distribution of the Everest line will be turned over to Invacare. All Aeiomed products will now carry the Invacare label and part numbers. Aeiomed, you may recall was the first company to mass-produce a battery operated CPAP machine. While this CPAP was widely accepted in the marketplace, the Aeiomed Corporation was unable to manage distribution channels. This move is expected to allow the Everest (now know as the Polaris) battery operated CPAP into many areas of the market previously unavailable to Aeiomed.

Our customers need to understand the importance of changing their filters and tubing on a regular basis. Changing the filters on a regular basis allows your machine to run as efficiently as possible, which will extend the life of your machine. Researchers at the Mayo Clinic believe they have discovered another form of Sleep Apnea. Until now, there have been two recognized forms of Sleep Apnea: Central and Obstructive. Researchers now contend that a new form called “complex apnea” has been discovered. Complex Apnea is a mixture of the two original forms of apneas. #####Article_6

As the air temperature outside cools off, the humidity level also declines. This reduction in humidity may be more comfortable to many people, but, may cause CPAP users to suffer. Cool dry air can cause an extremely sore throat, upper airway dryness, nasal congestion and nose bleeds. These are all familiar side effects for CPAP users. These conditions are most often due to the lack of heated humidity in the CPAP circuit. Most CPAP users see a significant, if not total elimination of these side effects with the addition of a heated humidification system. Respironics has introduced their latest addition to the M-Series platform with the Bipap Plus and Bipap Auto M-Series machines. This product was introduced at Medtrade by Respironics. The Bipap M-Series machine is lightweight and will also have the ability to use DC power cables and the Respironics Battery Pack. For more information go to ############

ResMed is continuing to scale back all support for the Mirage mask systems. Replacement cushions for the original Mirage mask will be available for a short period of time. If you are still using this interface and would like to obtain parts, act now before inventory is depleted. ResMed has discontinued support – once inventory is sold, these products will no longer be available.

Fisher & Paykel has reinvented their Full Face Mask. The original HC431 has been modified for use with the foam cushion similar to those used on other Fisher & Paykel masks (HC405 & HC407). By using the foam cushion, F&P hopes to continue to gain market share in the Full Face Market.
