What are Full Face CPAP Masks?There are two types of full face CPAP masks. The first type is shaped like a triangle and covers the nose and mouth. The second type is oval shaped and covers the whole face (mouth, nose, and eyes). This allows the pressure of the seal to spread out around the outer perimeter of the face, providing a more natural and comfortable breathing experience. Both types are held to the head by four-point headgear. Full face masks are good for people who breathe partially or entirely through their mouth when they sleep. All full face masks are compatible with all CPAP machines and are connected to the machine by a flexible hose. The mask should fit comfortably and seal completely without leaving red marks or causing soreness. It is suggested that the mask cushions be replaced approximately every three months or when they begin to lose their shape or ability to seal well. It is also suggested that the entire mask be replaced every six months or when it begins to leak, rip, or fit uncomfortably. Also, the mask should be washed daily with warm water and gentle soap or baby shampoo and air dried. We suggest using CPAP Supplies Plus/Direct Mask Wipes or Quality CPAP Mask Cleanser spray as a safe and hassle-free solution for cleaning your mask each day. |
