What are Nasal Pillow CPAP Masks?Nasal Pillow masks are the smallest and lightest type of CPAP mask and are held in place by headgear. They cover only the base of your nostrils with a soft pillow, so they are ideal for people who breathe only through their nose at night. However, if you prefer the minimal coverage of a nasal pillow mask, but your mouth opens at night, consider using a chinstrap in conjunction with your nasal pillow mask to keep your mouth closed. All nasal pillow masks are compatible with all CPAP machines and are connected to the machine by a flexible hose. The mask should fit comfortably and seal completely without leaving red marks or causing soreness. The nasal pillow should be replaced when it begins to rip, loses its shape, or loses its ability to seal well. It should also be washed daily with warm water and gentle soap or baby shampoo and air dried.
